Club Med Cherating

We had a refreshing holiday at Club Med Cherating for 4D/3N from 19-22 April 2009. It was an all-inclusive package. Larry drove all the way there and the entire journey took less than 4 hours. We warmly greeted by G.O's (Gentle Organizers) of Club Med. The resort has an exotic rustic kampung feel to it and our room was spacious! A king size bed, baby cot, day bed, separate toilet & bath areas, wardrobe, powder room, minibar, TV, small table & stool..... very tastefully furnished.

Evan at Petit Club which caters for the 2-3years old. G.O's facilitate activities for the children throughout the day. They have a nice shaded private pool, loads of toys, sleeping room, bath etc.
Evan was there from 9-5 each day and also for an hour during the night. He enjoyed all the activities eg arts & craft, balloon sculptures, swimming and playtime.

The beach was fantabulous! Evan was scared to walk on the beach and also of the waves but he was ok soon after that. Clear water and NO rubbish at all. Lots of people at the beach lounging and sun-bathing. Kids were there too playing. Club Med is teeming with guests mainly from Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea and the States. Most of them young families like us.

Marissa enjoyed herself at the pool. I went for a spa session - coffee body scrub & Balinese massage. The spa experience was satisfactory but pricey. I must say the spa at Pangkor Laut Resort is the best compared to Sembunyi Spa at Cyberjaya and Club Med Spa.

Sand play at the beach! Evan & Marissa really enjoyed themselves playing with sand. Marissa even ate some of it! Club Med actually organizes lots of activities the entire day for its guests eg games, sports & cooking demos. Drinks from the bar are free flow throughout the day. Meals are at the 2 main restaurants : Mutiara & Rembulan. The buffet spread served daily at Mutiara is sumptious and features international cuisine eg Indian, Korean, Japanese, Western, Chinese etc.
Rembulan offers a la carte fine dining with beachside ambience. We reserved dinner at Rembulan one of the nights and took a 'train' ride there. The 'trains' leave every half hour to Pantai Beach where the restaurant is located and also where water sports are played.

All in all - only one word to describe Club Med : F-U-N !!!

Hubby's Birthday

Hubby turned 34 years on 15th April. We had a simple birthday celebration at home on 2 nights - 14th & 15th. On the 14th, hubby received his birthday gift : a 2-tier Japanese Bento Kingyo (Goldfish) Lunchbox which I bought from Japan. In this case we packed his dinner inside it because he was back late from work due to a photoshoot at the clinic.

My mom cooked dinner that night. Marissa also enjoyed eating dinner. She doesn't like to eat much porridge so we feed her everything else that we eat and to our surprise she will willingly try everything! When she's done, she'll shake her head or hand to mean 'no'.

On the 15th, Larry's mom cooked dinner and made hard-boiled eggs. We also had a carrot cake which was ordered from Dreamcenter's cafeteria. RM50 for a whole cake but it was very delicious!

Evan helped me decorate the cake with a duck family and alphabet picks.

What's Marissa up to nowadays....

Marissa can easily pull herself up to stand and cruise since a few weeks back. She very steady on her feet and she likes to open and close the ikea cupboards that we have in the living room. She has started standing already - but for only a few seconds.

She's also been down at the baby/kids pool twice already. Bought her 2 swimsuits from Gymboree. She wearing a butterfly green one in this photo. She absolutely loves the water and I am sure she'll be very happy at the beach! We've booked a family holiday at Club Med Cherating from 19-22 April since we are not making it to Germany this time. Evan is so looking forward to the holiday.
