Blog Break

Need to go on a blog break - ultra busy with my ebay store re-opening. Lots of new items to relist and only 25% done.... Photo of Marissa with her daddy.

This is how Marissa sleeps sometimes - sucking her thumb! She's quite a pro doing this and also turning

Some more updates

Marissa turned all by herself already - which is pretty fast compared to Evan. She can also grasp items with both hands.

We dropped Evan at Smaland, Ikea when we went there shopping. He thoroughly enjoyed the one hour there - jumping into the ball pit, watching Little Einsteins and playing with all the other kids there. Smaland is only opened to kids 3-10 years and play time is limited to only one hour per day.

Some updates

Marissa is now 3 months (16/9/2008). She weighs approximately 6.15kg. She has started to try turning. She's still very chatty  - she likes to coo & gurgle in her own baby language plus she loves to smile and even laugh too! She can grasp items with her hands and more often than not, her hands can be found in  her mouth!

Marissa doesn't like being fed with a bottle - just like Evan. My mother-in-law feeds her when she's asleep instead, otherwise she'll cry.

"I wonder how my tiny toes taste like?"

Play Time with Evan

Evan all dressed up in a Firefighter costume complete with accessories.

Evan playing with his new jigsaw puzzle : Clementoni 60-pc Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Puzzle. Getting a bit harder to find more and more challenging jigsaw puzzles for him....

Back to Work

Started working again after 2.5 months. My actual maternity leave approved by my boss is 3 months. I started earlier as I wasn't sure how Marissa would take it. So decided to work 2 extra days before I officially return to work 3 days a week.

Marissa didn't want to drink from the bottle so my MIL had to use a cup to pour the milk into her mouth. Didn't give her much too (just  5 oz for 8 hours). I managed to express >8 oz of breastmilk at work. Was quite free - only saw one walk-in patient. Brought along some Gymboree Kid Girls clothes to clinic to liquidate some of my stock since my ebay store is temporarily closed due to my unknowingly violating their feedback policy.

About Evan

Evan - with spider tatoo on left arm. Evan has become more and more independent. He insists on dressing himself and also feeding himself. He also wants to brush his teeth all by himself. Getting more and more independent but somehow he refused to say so whenever he needs to pee / poo in school. Occasionally when I pick him up from school, he will say "Evan shee shee in the pants!"

Evan's Playmobil toys - shown here are a mixture of Playmobil 1-2-3 & Playmobil for 4+. Playmobil used to be widely available in Malaysia way back in the 80's. I remember playing with them when I was in kindy. The old name was Geobra or Klicky. Now, Playmobil is only available at Planete Enfants (Atria & The Mall). My brother Wei-Chung who's studying in Germany recently came back for his summer holidays and presented Evan with 4 boxes of Playmobil special (figurines).

Evan also has a few sets of Lego Duplo. This is Evan playing with his Lego Duplo Pirate Ship which I bought for only RM200 (NP : RM599.90) during Toy's R Us sales at Avenue K. It's really big and can even float in water. Talking about Lego, my other brother, Sau-Wern is in the midst of opening his own online store : brickbastion.com selling LEGO. He was bitten by the Lego bug not too long ago and has amassed a huge Lego collection of Castles (his first Lego set was a castle) and Pirates.
