We had a refreshing holiday at Club Med Cherating for 4D/3N from 19-22 April 2009. It was an all-inclusive package. Larry drove all the way there and the entire journey took less than 4 hours. We warmly greeted by G.O's (Gentle Organizers) of Club Med. The resort has an exotic rustic kampung feel to it and our room was spacious! A king size bed, baby cot, day bed, separate toilet & bath areas, wardrobe, powder room, minibar, TV, small table & stool..... very tastefully furnished.
Evan at Petit Club which caters for the 2-3years old. G.O's facilitate activities for the children throughout the day. They have a nice shaded private pool, loads of toys, sleeping room, bath etc.
Evan was there from 9-5 each day and also for an hour during the night. He enjoyed all the activities eg arts & craft, balloon sculptures, swimming and playtime.
The beach was fantabulous! Evan was scared to walk on the beach and also of the waves but he was ok soon after that. Clear water and NO rubbish at all. Lots of people at the beach lounging and sun-bathing. Kids were there too playing. Club Med is teeming with guests mainly from Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea and the States. Most of them young families like us.
Marissa enjoyed herself at the pool. I went for a spa session - coffee body scrub & Balinese massage. The spa experience was satisfactory but pricey. I must say the spa at Pangkor Laut Resort is the best compared to Sembunyi Spa at Cyberjaya and Club Med Spa.
Sand play at the beach! Evan & Marissa really enjoyed themselves playing with sand. Marissa even ate some of it! Club Med actually organizes lots of activities the entire day for its guests eg games, sports & cooking demos. Drinks from the bar are free flow throughout the day. Meals are at the 2 main restaurants : Mutiara & Rembulan. The buffet spread served daily at Mutiara is sumptious and features international cuisine eg Indian, Korean, Japanese, Western, Chinese etc.
Rembulan offers a la carte fine dining with beachside ambience. We reserved dinner at Rembulan one of the nights and took a 'train' ride there. The 'trains' leave every half hour to Pantai Beach where the restaurant is located and also where water sports are played.
All in all - only one word to describe Club Med : F-U-N !!!
